South Florida writer/editor Hector Mojena to host multimedia publishing workshop on Thursday, Nov. 1
For CAHSS-DWC CRDM students, alumni and faculty
On Thursday, Nov. 1, South Florida writer and editor Hector Mojena will visit Nova Southeastern University’s Fort Lauderdale/Davie Campus to present the publishing workshop “Breaking into Multimedia Publishing: Writing, Editing and Networking Strategies.”
The event, sponsored by CAHSS SGA, will take place at 6 p.m. in the Alvin Sherman Library Room 4009 and will highlight the top-down production process for book publication and publisher guidelines. CAHSS-DWC M.A. in Composition, Rhetoric, and Digital Media students, alumni and faculty are invited to attend and learn more about useful databases and other helpful resources to publish work.
“This is a great opportunity for students to learn directly from a publishing industry professional,” said Shanti Bruce, Ph.D., professor and chair of the Department of Writing and Communication and interim chair of the Department of Multidisciplinary Studies.
Mojena is a writer and editor based in Oakland Park, Florida. He has published essays and short fiction in The Missouri Review, Saw Palm Magazine, Strangeways and The Acentos Review.
