Professional Interests
Merrie Meyers, Ph.D. APR, Fellow PRSA is a 35-year communication professional. She has worked in multiple industries, including Banking and Finance, Newspapers and Education. She worked for Broward County Public Schools for 25 years, serving in various communication roles, including Chief Spokesperson, and Community Relationship and Partnerships Director. For the past five years, she has been the Grant Development Manager for Broward College. She has been recognized for her work in communications, receiving the “Grace Under Fire” award for her work during Hurricanes Wilma and Katrina in 2005. She also received the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) Gold Medallion Award, the association’s top public relations award, for fostering community engagement in public education. In 2003, she authored Fundraising Tips and Tactics: A Practical Guidebook for the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA). She is a frequent public relations and education conference speaker.
