Carlyn Jorgensen, Ph.D., is currently an Adjunct Professor of Political Science in the History and Political Science Department at Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Jorgensen’s research focuses on genocide, including the role of physical and sexual dehumanization in genocide. She has also conducted research on the feasibility of the concept of genocide prevention, the responsibility to protect, and sexual violence in genocide. She hopes to conduct in-depth field research in Rwanda with individuals who participated in the 1994 genocide in order to understand what motivated the perpetrators.
