9/26 - Guest Artist Exhibition: P O L A R O R I G I N S The Guest Artist Exhibition is a FREE event sponsored by the Department of Performing and Visual Arts. This year we welcome Freddy Jouwayed, a prominent South Florida artist and exhibition designer. In September, Gallery 217 will house his most recent site-specific exhibition, POLARORIGINS, an immersive mixed media experience.

10/4 - 10/6 - DNA Written by Dennis Kelley Short Play, Drama, Ages 13+ “Some teenagers do something bad, really bad, then panic and cover the whole thing up. But when they find that the cover-up unites them and brings harmony to their once fractious lives, where's the incentive to put things right?” – Samuel French This piece was commissioned by NT Education as part of its Connection project, the play was first performed in the Cottesloe Theatre of the National Theatre in 2008.

10/16 - Dance Awareness Day Dance Awareness Day is a community outreach project led by the NSU Dance program and the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. This FREE EVENT features a day of dance workshops led by Dance Faculty, Guest Artists and NSU Dance Majors. All levels are welcome and classes will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. 11/15 - Have Yourself a Very Merry Mayfly: A 24hr Theatre Project Presented by Stage2 Productions (Student Company) Our Stage 2 students will create original works, cast, design, and stage it ALL within a 24-hour span, the performance of these original works will take place in the evening of the following day! 11/22 – Portraits in Music: Back to the 80’s The Department of Performing and Visual Arts’ annual Portraits in Music is a musical concert that will feature performances from music faculty and students, as well as original student works and arrangements. This year enjoy some of the most iconic music from the 1980’s, from Police to Madonna to Queen to Prince, something for everyone! Performances also by our very own Pistris Ensemble and Mako Band.
