Professional Interests

David R. Englert, Ph.D., was an Investigative psychology fellow with the Air Force's Office of Special Investigations and later served as the chief of Investigative psychology for this federal law enforcement agency assisting in hundreds of death cases and over two thousand sexual assault investigations. Dr. Englert has been recognized as an expert witness in the area of forensic psychology numerous times and acted as a consultant in almost two hundred court cases. He has published peer reviewed journal articles in the areas of suicide, law enforcement selection, and the effects of exposure to disturbing media images. Currently he is the Operational Psychologist for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
