Ellen Kracoff, J.D., is licensed to practice law in the State of Florida. Upon graduating with her Juris Doctor, she worked in Condominium and Real Estate Law department of a mid-size law firm as a practicing attorney. As a practicing lawyer, she opened and maintained a successful law practice. She took and successfully completed law school courses in contracts, wills, trusts and estates, securities, regulations and corporations, all which trained her in the aspects of business entities and estate planning. Furthermore, she successfully completed coursework in Family and Juvenile Delinquency.
Prior to attending law school, Kracoff obtained a Master’s of Science Degree from Florida International University in Family and Consumer Sciences. This course of study included classes in Family Life Education. While in law school, she successfully completed courses in Property Law, Contracts and Family Law. In addition, she has taken the requisite coursework that would enable her to conduct legal research. While in private practice, she conducted title searches and represented many clients in the drafting and review of contracts. She also assisted both buyers and sellers at the real estate closings. Moreover, while in practice she advised and assisted clients in the creation of business entities and estate planning. In addition, she drafted contracts, reviewed contracts, and defended individuals in breach of contract cases. She also incorporated a significant amount of corporate formation and drafting of documents in her legal practice. She has handled many family law matters, including adoption, dissolution of marriage and marital agreements. Moreover, many of the concerns, presented in the practice of real estate and contract law, are impacted by family law issues.
While in private practice, Kracoff she has taken additional coursework that has enabled her to maintain familiarity with software necessary to teach computer courses. In addition, her legal practice incorporated several legal software that is taught to students. During her tenure at Nova Southeastern, she has taken numerous courses to maintain her Florida Bar License (and State of Florida Teaching Certificate), which included the following topics: Real Property, Florida Dissolution of Marriage, Representing the Nontraditional Family, Emerging Technologies for the 21st Century and Protecting the Second Family, and Trends and Issues in Drafting Wills and Trusts in Florida. As a practicing lawyer, Kracoff incorporated a significant amount of research and writing. Previously Kracoff owned a Securities company and held numerous licenses as a security principal. In addition to her experience as an attorney, she is well versed in issues related to employment law and workers’ compensation issues. She also has had experiences in the areas of Marital Contracts, Dissolution of Marriage, Alternatives to the Traditional Marriage, Adoption and Death in the Family.
