Professional Interests

George Duncan, Ph.D., first became interested in the field of forensics as a senior in college as an intern at the Dade County Crime Laboratory. He was a police officer, police technician and crime scene technician/chemist/ at the Dade Laboratory and Dade County Public Safety Department from 1969 to 1972 and a biologist/chemist/DNA unit manager at the Broward County Sheriff's Office Crime Laboratory from 1972 to the present. He has been an adjunct instructor in Chemistry at Broward College, and is presently a courtesy professor in Chemistry at Florida International University and an adjunct at Nova Southeastern University since 2004. Dr. Duncan has published five peer-reviewed journal articles in the last three years in the field of evolutionary genetics and forensic science DNA technology.
