Professional Interests

Jacquelyn Browne Ph.D., L.C.S.W., is the Director of Nova Southeastern University’s Certificate and Master of Arts in Gerontology program. Dr. Browne developed this program with a humanistic emphasis: how do we create meaning and purpose in our older years? How do we relate to one another authentically? As director and faculty, she is devoted to her students.  Her research interests are in aging and resilience, believing that developing psychological flexibility is a key in aging well.

Dr. Browne has been the recipient of three NSU Quality of Life grants, the lead investigator for developing the Community Foundation of Broward’s Re-engAGE for Good initiative, and served as a lead faculty in NSU’s federally funded Geriatric Education Center grant. In addition, Dr. Browne presents at workshops, and conferences, and is frequently invited locally to raise awareness about the potential that aging offers individuals and society.  She maintains a private psychotherapy practice in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
