Message from the Chair

"Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.”
― Pablo Picasso

Welcome to Nova Southeastern University’s Department of Performing and Visual Arts (DPVA). By infusing classroom learning with hands-on opportunities, our students learn how to apply theory to practice. DPVA faculty work professionally in South Florida and beyond, and then share their connections and experience with the students. The DPVA serves as a cultural resource for the university and the community, providing opportunities for artistic expression and appreciation. We invite you to come visit our wonderful facilities, meet with our faculty, and witness the creative expression of our students to see how the NSU DPVA can help you cultivate your creative self.

The mission of the Department of Performing and Visual Arts (DPVA) is to develop arts innovators through interdisciplinary scholarship, arts research, community outreach, exhibition, and performance.
