The following testimonials represent the diverse learning experiences, academic achievements, and post-graduation successes of the alumni of the Department of Performing and Visual Arts.

Mackenzie Anderson

Mackenzie AndersonB.A. Theatre, Music | Class of 2017

Mackenzie Anderson graduated from NSU in 2017 with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Theatre and Music. You may have seen her in Once Upon a Mattress (Princess Winnifred), Suddenly Last Summer (Mrs. Venable), Bat Boy the Musical (Meredith Parker), the annual Broadway Bash performances, and a number of other concerts and productions put on by the DPVA. She was also a Federal Work Study employee in the PVA Main Office. Anderson currently works as a vocal teacher at ProMusic Plus in Weston, FL.

Mariah Busk

Mariah BuskB.A. Theatre | Class of 2016

Mariah Busk received her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre with Honors Recognition from Nova Southeastern University in May of 2016. While there, she played the title roles of Hamlet and Everyman. Her other credits include Bat Boy (Sheriff Reynolds), A Piece of My Heart (Leann), Betty’s Summer Vacation (Mrs. Siezzmagraff), Once On This Island (Asaka), and Sylvia (Kate). Mariah’s technical experience consists of four years as a Federal Work Study in NSU Theatre’s Scene Shop and assisting with set construction at The Vanguard. Recently, she worked as a company management intern with City Theatre and run crew for FAU Theatre Lab’s world premiere of Three Sisters of Weehawken. In her spare time Mariah likes to sing, dance, do yoga, practice aerial silks, and paint. 

Anh Nguyen

Anh NhygenB.A. Art and Design | Class of 2016

Anh Nguyen, graduate of the Art and Design class of 2016, accepted a job at the NSU Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art in the education department. She is also a professional muralist, and has started working with a company called MUCE, or Miami Urban Contemporary Experience. MUCE is “an organization that seeks to foster an enthusiastic experience for artists and consumers alike in all fields.” They are currently producing an Art Bizarre with Commission Jean Monestime.
